Third London Edition (Note to Third Edition dated April 13th, 1848) 2 volumes bound in 1. Small 8vo. (approx. 16 x 11cm) hardback in half dark red calf with raised bands, dark green title label, decorative gilt to spine, and marbled boards. 314pp. and 344pp. Very faint, mainly erased blue rubber stamp (featuring a ship's wheel) to front pastedown. Old linen tape reinforcing to front inner hinge. Rear inner hinge weak and lower board partly detached. Slight dog-earing to a few pages in Volume II. Some foxing to prelims and very small ink stain to foredge, otherwise clean and bright internally. Binding worn with loss to top and base of spine and cracking to board hinges. Overall a Good Copy, possibly fit for a good rebind.
