FIRST THUS Folio in sixes (approx. 32 x 20.5cm) hardback in old full tan calf, raised bands and decorative gilt to spine and gilt borders to boards. All edges red. Marbled endpapers. Lacking actual Title and Contents pages but with most of the titles, text and decoration cut from original pages and pasted to blanks at front (please see photos). Does contain the title page to the second part: The Wars. [6], 812pp., plus [27] Table [Index] at end. With decorative head and tailpieces and initial caps throughout. Modern armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Occasional light foxing and handling marks. Foredge to first few pages a little ragged and stained. Spine rather worn with loss of calf to raised bands and some loss to top and base of spine. Light staining and soiling to edgeworn boards. Overall a Good Copy.
