First Edition. 4to., in half calf gilt, with gilt decoration to spine and line borders to spine and corners of both covers, and marbled boards; [viii] + 323pp + [lxiii] Appendix + index, illustrated with 9 black and white plates plus one foldout. Previous owner's old ink inscription to front pastedown, and another's attractive bookplate to ffep. Occasional light foxing and offsetting, plates particularly. Boards rather rubbed and worn, leather rather mottled, spine beginning to split at sides, gilt a little faded. Good overall.
